Update: Important roadworks information

A11 between Thetford and Attleborough: resurfacing

Following on from our previous communication, I am writing again to provide you with a further update on the essential resurfacing work taking place at the above location.

We have closely liaised with the local authority to agree the most suitable diversion routes for our next phase of work, as detailed below:

Phase 4: A11 closure from A1075 roundabout, Thetford to Snetterton Junction, in both directions for 8 weeks. The road will be closed from 8pm to 6am on weeknights and weekends from Monday 15 March until the end of May. Access to Snetterton Business Park will be from the north side of the A11 only.

  • Southbound traffic will be diverted from Thickthorn Junction via the A47/Norwich Southern Bypass and follow the A140, then the A1066 before re-joining the A11 at Thetford. (Diagram 1)
  • Southbound traffic for HGV’s and vehicles over 4.7 metres/15.6ft, will be diverted from Thickthorn Junction via the A47/Norwich Southern Bypass and follow the A140, the A143 before joining the A14 at junction 38. (Diagram 2)

Please refer to the attached diversion map. We will be contacting you with further updates to the programme.
